UPDATE: Chris Snider is Home
Thanks to the support and donations of family and friends, Chris Snider has come back to Duluth.
Chris Snider is coming home to Duluth to live out his final days at his sister’s home in Floodwood, in hospice care. Earlier this week, doctors only gave him days to live, but following a huge overflow of support from the Northland, Chris has made a comeback. A strong enough comeback that doctors are allowing him to return home. Chris thanks everyone in the Northland for their prayers, emails, letters, calls and text messages he says that support has helped him to battle back from cancer enough to get back to Duluth. Chris will be returning to the Northland this Tuesday, Jan. 29th.
Chris Snider, former FOX 21 TV meteorologist has been battling stage four bone cancer, osteosarcoma. 28-year old Snider is currently at a hospital in Mississippi with his family at his side. Snider left Duluth in the summer of 2011 to perform missionary work.
“Chris is sitting up, talking a bit and even laughing. He’s come a long way in a few days and it’s all thanks to the prayers and support pouring out from loved ones, family members, friends and strangers,” stated Tabitha Snider. “My brother is a man with a big heart and a strong faith. He wants me to thank everyone on his behalf. He is very very happy that he gets to come home.”
Member of his former FOX 21 Crew have been working together to gather up funds to help cover medical expenses. “I had a chance to talk to Chris over the phone, he could barely speak, but it was good to hear his warm laugh. We want to do all we can to help Chris, he’s our family,” stated Julie Moravchik, former FOX 21 News Director.
