Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
I like apples. Correction: I love, crave, and seek out apples or anything made of apples. But, despite my love for apples, I have a sweet tooth whose cravings cannot be satisfied by a mere fruit. Chocolate-dipped, caramel-rolled, candy-coated, sugar-glazed—now that’s more like it! Caramel apples are one of my favorite treats and I get one at each fair I attend (it is tradition). The best caramel apple I’ve had so far came from a fair in Texas. They don’t lie when they say, “everything’s bigger in Texas.” The treat was so monstrous that I could barely get a chip off of my almond bark, dark chocolate drizzled, rolled-in-almonds apple. My mouth is watering even as I write this. That apple creation was a small piece of heaven!
Well, reality check, I don’t live in Texas and I don’t meander down there all that often so I’ve had to find something to fill the gap. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory gives me far more options than a fair and the quality, as it should be, is ten times better! What I love the most is their selection: caramel apples rolled in M&Ms, nuts, snickers, sprinkles, chocolate, Oreos, etc. The Oreo apple is next on my hit list. They also have chocolate-dipped strawberries, bananas, cherries, and orange peels (don’t knock it till you’ve tried it because they are surprisingly good!).
Don’t like fruit with your desert? Simple. As the title indicates, all this chocolate factory requires is that you like chocolate. The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory dips cheesecake, crackers, pretzels, Twinkies, makes their own fudge, bark, monster peanut butter cups, and the list goes on and on! Like I said, all you need is a sweet tooth of the chocolate variety.
The Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory is located across from Bellisio’s Italian Restaurant in Canal Park. The normal treat after wandering Canal Park is Cold Stone or Dairy Queen but it is fun to mix it up a bit with a more rich and fanciful treat. Anything you indulge in from the Chocolate Factory will be something you remember! I can’t get the image of their Oreo bark out of my head . . . I love apples, but did I mention that I love Oreos? Whatever treat satisfies your sweet tooth, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory puts an elegant spin on the simple . . . and it’s mouth-watering every time. Enjoy!
