Five Minute Makeover
Tarek Abbas has a winning smile and an easy demeanor that puts women at ease in an instant. This is essential when you know he is seeing you at your worst, sans makeup, and studying your face in a way few men will ever get the chance to do. Tarek is a Lancome National Makeup Artist and he was recently in Duluth to do consultations and essentially, makeovers, on several very lucky women.
Day One was a VIP event at which Tarek spent individual time with each of the women, asking them exactly what they wanted to learn more about. The top answer was always eyes, with a few women responding lips, or face “sculpting” – the technique that allows you to make your cheekbones seem higher or your mouth fuller. Individual one-on-one time ensured that every woman learned to make up the area that most concerned her.
Day Two was a series of individual appointments with make-up and skin consulting professionals laying the “base” while Tarek came in to complete the finishing touches. Once more, he took the time to spend with each woman on a one-on-one consultation and each one left looking terrific.
Tarek has a unique way of capturing a woman’s personal sense of style. He believes that make-up should never be overpowering and equates it to a frame around artwork. The frame should be noticed and should enhance the art, but it should never take the focus off the content.
Lancome provides these experiences at our very own Younkers store in Miller Hill Mall on a quarterly basis. For more information contact the Lancome counter at Younkers.
Angela Stocke and DSM Publisher Marti Buscaglia are shown here with their respective make-up artists Mickey Bower and Susan Swanson before skin care and make-up applications…and after skin care, make-up and finishing touches by Tarek.
