Going Back to College as an AdultIt’s not an easy step to make, going back to college as an adult. Aside from fitting in class time into one’s work and/or parenting schedule, there are the inevitable worries about being seen as an outsider, an interloper, the “weird old person” in class. There’s good news, though, for those students who may have been referred to as “non-traditional,” once upon a time: traditions have changed. |

Five Minute MakeoverTarek Abbas has a winning smile and an easy demeanor that puts women at ease in an instant. Tarek is a Lancome National Makeup Artist and he was recently in Duluth to do consultations and essentially, makeovers, on several very lucky women. |

Banquette SeatingComfortable seating at a table is commonly requested in my kitchen re-design projects. Families desire a space to gather for meals, play games, do homework, and just hang out. All too often, however, the space available is too small to adequately accommodate a table and chairs, and yet that does not stop people from trying to squeeze a table set into this limited space. When this happens, the table barely functions for the family (forget comfort!), the chairs are constantly shifted to allow access and the ill-fitting table becomes a more likely gathering space for clutter than family members. |
