BRIGHTEN THAT EMPTY WALL
Maggie Flowers

You’ve got a large, empty wall. It might cost several hundred dollars for a piece of artwork (or pieces) to fill it. THE SOLUTION? Wall pockets! They can easily be changed out for the season or your mood, too. Using environmental (green) solutions for accessorizing can be as important as (green) construction materials are to new construction. Visually, the stems or twigs that are in each vile offer tremendous textural interest to a space. The height of the twigs/stems can be manipulated easily and one of the most important features is a clean uncluttered look, a fresher solution for contemporary design and don’t forget the wonderful shadows you will create that will be ever changing with the proper lighting cast on them! Pick flowers, twigs, stems, boughs, feathers, or weeds with the children. The glass vile can also be filled with great textures like corn, peas, beans, rocks, marbles and the list goes on and on. Happy hunting.
