Dr. I.V. Foster
Dr. I.V. Foster is the new superintendent for ISD 709. His experience includes Superintendent for the Prairie-Hills School District, Assistant Superintendent for the Rock Island School District, Principal for Carl Sandburg Intermediate School, and Dean of Students at West Aurora High School in Illinois. He holds an Ed.D, in Education Administration and Leadership, an M.A.in Music Education and B.A. in Music Education from Northern Illinois University.
What is your most marked characteristic?
Compassion.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Both of my two amazing daughters.
When and where were you happiest?
September 2006 in Plainsfield, Illinois.
What is your greatest regret?
Not spending more time with my daughters.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Good health, good family and friends, and an amazing partner to share all that life has to offer.
What is your most treasured possession?
Good health and family.
Where would you most like to live?
The Midwest.
What is your greatest fear?
Poor health.
What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?
Procrastination.

Disrespect.
What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Independence – we all need someone to improve the quality of our life.
What is your greatest extravagance?
A Caribbean cruise and resort stay in South Beach, Florida.
What’s on your iPod?
R&B, Motown, jazz, later Celtic, hip-hop, pop, country, 70’s, classic rock, and classical music.
What is your favorite journey?
Life!
What is it that you most dislike?
Bad service, cold oatmeal.

Honesty and loyalty.
